Manchester City Captain, Kyle Walker Completes Loan Move To AC Milan

Manchester City captain, Kyle Walker has joined AC Milan on loan for the rest of the season.

The England defender underwent a medical with the Italian giants, who have won the European Cup seven times, on Thursday, January 23.

Kyle Walker’s loan agreement includes an option for Milan to purchase the 34-year-old at the end of the season.

The six-time Premier League winner will join fellow English players Fikayo Tomori, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and Tammy Abraham at the San Siro.

He will wear the number 32 jersey and might make his debut in Sunday’s Serie A game against Parma.

After the transfer was confirmed, Walker shared an emotional message on Instagram, calling his time at City a “dream come true.”

He expressed gratitude to the club’s staff and thanked his teammates for the memories, describing them as “friends and family for life.”

“A huge thank you to so many people, the coaching staff, the kit men and all the backroom staff who work tirelessly behind the scenes. You make every day enjoyable and provide the platform for us to perform at our best.

“To my team-mates, from the moment I walked through the door I felt at home. Thank you for the great memories and for all the success we have shared together. You are friends, but also family for life,” he wrote.

He praised manager Pep Guardiola for his support, saying, “To Pep Guardiola, thank you for believing in me and working so hard to bring me here in 2017. Together, we’ve celebrated 17 trophies, and your guidance has helped shape me into the player I am today. I’ll be forever grateful.”

Kyle Walker joined City in 2017 from Tottenham for £50 million, making 319 appearances and playing a key role in their treble-winning season in 2022-23. He has also earned 93 caps for England.

The right-back, who was part of all six of City’s Premier League title-winning squads under Guardiola, played his final match for the club on January 4 against West Ham. After the game, he informed Guardiola of his desire to leave.

Manchester City issued a statement wishing Walker success for the rest of the season. It read: “Everyone at Manchester City wishes Kyle the very best of luck for the rest of the season.”

His move to Milan comes a day after Man City announced the £59 million signing of Egypt forward Omar Marmoush from Frankfurt.
