Omoyele Sowore Says He Will Honour Police Invitation Over Viral Extortion Video

Former presidential candidate and activist, Omoyele Sowore has announced that he will meet with the Nigerian Police on Monday.

It was gathered that the activist was invited in connection with a viral video he shared on social media exposing alleged extortion at a police checkpoint in Lagos.

Sowore had previously disclosed on Facebook that a senior police officer contacted him regarding the video, which led to a police investigation.

On Wednesday night, he revealed that the police were searching for him but confirmed his availability in Abuja and readiness to cooperate.

In a post on X.com on Friday, Sowore shared a photo of the police invitation letter, writing, “The PoliceNG⁩ invitation has arrived, I will be there on Monday as requested.”
