Obasanjo’s ADC, Maj Gen Christopher Jemitola Slumps And Dies At Abuja Golf Club

Retired Major General Christopher Jemitola, a former Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, has died after collapsing at the IBB International Golf and Country Club in Abuja.

Sources close to the family revealed that he was rushed to the hospital immediately after the incident on Thursday but was pronounced dead upon arrival. The exact cause of his collapse has not been disclosed.

Jemitola served as Obasanjo’s ADC from 2003 to 2007 when he was a colonel, earning recognition for his dedication and professionalism.

His military career continued to flourish, leading to key roles such as Director of Defence Information and later Defence Attaché at the Nigerian Embassy in Brazil.

Before retiring, he held the influential position of Chief of Policy and Plans (COPP) in the Nigerian Army, where his expertise helped shape military strategy.

After leaving the army, he transitioned into the private sector, serving as a Senior Advisor for Military Communications at Pinnacle Communications Limited in 2019.

His sudden death has left a deep impact on the military and security communities, with colleagues mourning the loss of a respected officer and strategist.

As of now, his family has not released an official statement regarding funeral arrangements. However, tributes have already started pouring in from military officials and associates, recognizing his contributions to national security.

KanyiDaily also reported that suspected bandits have abducted retired Major General Mahrazu Tsiga, a former Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
