Following Davido’s defeat at the recent 67th Grammy Awards, Samklef took to social media to taunt the singer.
He claimed that Burna Boy and Wizkid were likely laughing at Davido’s failed attempt to secure a Grammy win.
Samklef also took jabs at Davido’s fanbase, 30BG, implying that they were overly invested in his success.
He argued that money could not make up for a lack of talent, using Tems as an example of an artist with true talent and humility.
He wrote: “Please check on 30BGs o! 😂 Thank God say dem no dey bribe for Grammy—if not, we for no hear word today!
“At the end of the day, money can’t save you if you don’t have real talent. Tems won because she’s truly gifted.
“Now she has the house, the private jet, the expensive cars—but no unnecessary show-off. Just pure talent.”
In another post, Samklef doubled down on his claim that Burna Boy and Wizkid were likely amused by Davido’s loss.
“Burnaboy and Wizkid go Dey one place just Dey laff he wan win Grammy,” he said.
However, Ubi Franklin quickly stepped in to defend Davido, calling out Samklef for his “disrespectful remarks.”
Franklin reminded Samklef that Davido was not the first artist to be nominated for a Grammy without winning, pointing out that Chris Brown had 25 nominations before finally winning two awards.
The music executive urged Samklef to stop the negative comments, revealing that he had already spoken to him privately about the issue.
He also dismissed the notion that Burna Boy and Wizkid were even concerned about the Grammy outcome, implying that Samklef was stirring unnecessary drama.
“Samklef you actually need to stop this please, David is not the first person who has gotten nominated and hasn’t won yet.
“Chris Brown after 25 Nominations he just got two. Stop dragging David into your continuous disrespectful commentary.
“I am very certain Burna and wiz aren’t even bothered about the outcome yesterday at the Grammy.
“I have spoken to you in private as my friend, you need to actually stop this rubbish you have been doing, please stop,” Franklin wrote.
KanyiDaily recalls that Tems won Grammy award for “Best African Music Performance” with her song *Love Me JeJe* from her album “Born In The Wild”,.
