During a Sunday service, Pastor Daniel Olukoya recounted an incident from 1976 when he was a student at the University of Lagos (UNILAG).
According to him, one of his roommates had an accident, and he, along with his friends, rushed the injured student to the hospital.
The cleric said that after their friend was admitted, the hospital staff told them to go home and return the next morning.
He recalled that as they left the hospital, they noticed a woman approaching them with a large pot placed on her head.
Pastor Olukoya stated that when she got closer, they were shocked to realize she wasn’t wearing any clothes.
“My friends ran away,” Olukoya recalled. “But I stood my ground. I told myself, ‘Daniel, this is a spirit, and I will see it for myself.’”
He decided to confront her, asking, “Madam, you look educated. Why are you walking around naked with a pot on your head in the middle of the night?”
To his surprise, the woman admitted she had studied in the United Kingdom.
However, she explained that a native doctor had told her the only way to break free from her family’s problems was to perform a ritual by walking naked with a pot.
Olukoya said he tried to persuade her to turn to Jesus instead, but she dismissed him, saying, “Young man, mind your business.”
Reflecting on the encounter, the pastor concluded, “Oppression can drive even the educated into bondage.”
KanyiDaily recalls that Pastor Enoch Adeboye also recounted how a woman visited his office years ago with her unusual claim that God had told her he was meant to be her husband.
