KanyiDaily recalls that E-Money was arrested on Monday night at his home in Omole, Lagos, and was taken to the EFCC office in Abuja.
EFCC sources said his arrest was linked to allegations of mishandling Nigeria’s currency and damaging foreign money.
Specifically, the businessman was accused of spraying U.S. dollars, which goes against the country’s Foreign Exchange Act.
It was gathered that E-Money was released on Tuesday night, April 29, after hours of interrogation by EFCC operatives.
After his release, E-Money shared a message on Instagram, thanking his supporters and letting them know everything was fine.
He posted a video of himself looking relaxed at home with the caption: “No tension, everywhere good, I see all your love and support. God bless you all.”
The video played a gospel song, “Thank you for saving me, thank you my Lord.”
Fellow socialite Pascal Okechukwu, also known as Cubana Chief Priest, shared a celebratory post on his own Instagram, saying: “My brother don fall out, To God be the glory.”
At the time of writing this report, efforts to contact EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale for confirmation of E-Money’s release had not been successful.
