Police Stop Mob Attack, Rescue Suspected Thief In Akwa Ibom [Photos]

A young man was saved from a violent mob by the police in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

It was gathered that the man was caught on Tuesday morning by locals who accused him of stealing near the Abak Road flyover, close to the Church of Christ.

The crowd had already put a tyre around him and were preparing to set him on fire when police officers happened to pass by and quickly stepped in to stop them.

An eyewitness, Midoho Abasi Sampson, shared the incident on social media, saying, “Jungle justice was avoided in this way. By Abak road flyover, before Church of Christ, God graciously gave this young man a second chance. The police passed by, and intervened. That’s how jungle justice was averted.

“My question is, “can a person escape jungle justice and go back to stealing”? Please say NO TO STEALING.”
