According to reports, the incident happened after a disagreement between the couple at their home on Oza Street in the Ogbelaka area near Sakponba Road.
It was gathered that Esosa allegedly assaulted his wife, a mother of three, leaving her with serious injuries.
Chinwendu was rushed to the hospital, where doctors reportedly discovered she had internal bleeding, believed to be from the beating she received.
Her father, Everistus Nnadozie, said he got a call informing him that his daughter had been badly beaten by her husband.
“They said he took her to the hospital where a doctor was said to have carried out some tests on her, and the result showed that she has internal bleeding”, he said.
He explained that Chinwendu passed away before he could get there.
Nnadozie also revealed that he was not able to see her body because Esosa allegedly took her remains to an unknown mortuary without informing the family.
The deceased’s father said that when he went to Esosa’s house, neighbors told him that he had fled.
“I went to his house, they said he had absconded,” the bereaved father said
Nnadozie said he has been trying to contact his son-in-law to find out where the body was taken, but Esosa has not responded or shown up.
