Natasha Akpoti Reacts As Sandra Duru Accuses Her Of Lying Against Akpabio

Suspended Kogi Central Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has denied the allegations made against her by Sandra Duru, a Nigerian businesswoman based in the UK who also goes by the name Prof Mgbeke.

In a Facebook livestream on Thursday, Sandra Duru accused Natasha Akpoti of falsely claiming that Senate President Godswill Akpabio had sexually harassed her.

She also alleged that Natasha tried to involve her in a smear campaign against Akpabio by offering huge amounts of money — both in naira and US dollars.

Duru claimed that Natasha offered her N200 million to accuse Akpabio of organ trafficking, and even played what she said were phone recordings between the two of them as evidence.

She further alleged that Natasha’s goal was to tarnish Akpabio’s image and weaken President Bola Tinubu by removing one of his closest allies in the Senate.

According to Duru, Natasha admitted during one of their calls that she had no proof of the sexual harassment she was claiming.

She added, “So I had to redirect her back to my question, and she then said it (sexual advances) didn’t happen. ‘I don’t have evidence.’

“I told Natasha, ‘You are a pathological liar. You have disgraced us, Nigerians.’ She said Nigerians were G and H – ‘Gullible and Hungry’ – and I asked, ‘You want to add to their problems?’”

Duru also accused the senator of refusing advice to reconcile with fellow lawmakers and instead pushing an agenda that, in her view, could destabilize the government.

“I don’t know what she meant by that,” Duru said. “Natasha is not teachable. She lacks humility and doesn’t care. If it doesn’t go Natasha’s way, you are her enemy.

“Natasha is on a mission to destroy men… I cannot watch her destroy our men, our sons, and our girls who are following her blindly.”

But in a statement on Friday, Senator Natasha denied the claims, describing them as completely false and politically motivated.

The lawmaker accused Duru of working on behalf of Senate President Akpabio to damage her reputation.

She also noted that Duru used to go by the name “Prof. Mgbeke” on Facebook and suggested that her sudden reappearance with serious accusations was suspicious.

I have carefully watched a livestream done by one Sandra C. Duru on Facebook, on May 1, 2025. The content of the livestream, including the voice attributed to me, is entirely untrue and has been manipulated to serve Sandra Duru’s ulterior motive of executing Senator Godswill Akpabio’s script,” Natasha said.

To the best of my knowledge, those words are false and did not arise from any legitimate interaction involving me. I also recently discovered that the individual now identifying as Sandra Duru previously operated under the name Prof. Mgbeke on Facebook.”

Senator Natasha Akpoti said she would address the allegations more thoroughly at a later time.

KanyiDaily recalls that Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan recently issued a sarcastic apology to Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
