“Forgive Me For Believing I Earned My Senate Seat By Election, Not Erections” – Natasha Akpoti Apologizes To Akpabio
Suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has issued what appears to be an apology to Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

Natasha Akpoti, who represents Kogi Central, issued the apology was through a satirical letter she made public on Sunday.
Akpabio, who is currently in Rome for Pope Francis’ funeral, was the target of her sharp message, which was shared with journalists in Abuja.
Natasha was suspended from the Senate on March 6 after a clash with the leadership over a new seating arrangement she claimed was meant to marginalize her.
The situation escalated when she accused Akpabio on national television of retaliating against her after she allegedly turned down his sexual advances.
Later, during the Women in Parliament event at the United Nations’ Inter-Parliamentary Union meeting in New York, Natasha Akpoti again spoke out, calling for global scrutiny of the Nigerian Senate.
She criticized the harsh penalties she faced, such as her security being withdrawn, her salary slashed, and a six-month suspension from her legislative duties.
After these public accusations, the conflict between Natasha and Akpabio led to a court ruling that forbade both sides from making any further comments to the media until their legal battle is settled.
Despite the court order, just days after Akpabio led a federal delegation to the Vatican, Natasha released her “apology letter,” dripping with sarcasm.
In the letter, Natasha asked Akpabio to forgive her for mistakenly believing that her seat in the Senate was earned through elections, not erections.
She mocked the idea that success in the Senate depends on personal favors rather than merit, and criticized the entitled culture among some male leaders.
The lawmaker went on to say she now understood the damage she supposedly caused, and sarcastically asked for forgiveness for disrupting the “natural order” of political favoritism.
It read, “Dear Distinguished Senate President Godswill Akpabio, It is with the deepest sarcasm and utmost theatrical regret that I tender this apology for the grievous crime of possessing dignity and self-respect in your most exalted presence.
“I have reflected extensively on my unforgivable failure to recognise that legislative success in certain quarters is apparently not earned through merit, but through the ancient art of compliance — of the very personal kind.
“How remiss of me not to understand that my refusal to indulge your… “requests” was not merely a personal choice, but a constitutional violation of the unwritten laws of certain men’s entitlement. Truly, I must apologize for prioritizing competence over capitulation, vision over vanity, and the people’s mandate over private dinners behind closed doors.
“I now realize the catastrophic consequences of my actions: legislation delayed, tempers flared, and the tragic bruising of egos so large they require their own postcodes. For this disruption to the natural order of “quid pro quo,” I bow my head in fictional shame.
“Please find it in your magnanimous heart — somewhere buried deep beneath layers of entitlement — to forgive this stubborn woman who mistakenly believed that her seat in the Senate was earned through elections, not erections. I remain Yours in eternal resistance, Senator Natasha H Akpoti Uduaghan Unafraid, Unbought, and Unbroken.”
KanyiDaily recalls that Kogi residents recently took Godswill Akpabio and the Senate to court over the suspension of Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
