KanyiDaily recalls that VeryDarkMan was taken into custody by the EFCC on Friday, May 2, just after visiting GTBank in Abuja with his mother to make inquiries about her account.
His arrest, according to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), was connected to several complaints made against him by different people.
The protesters gathered in large numbers near the EFCC headquarters in Jabi, carrying placards and chanting messages in support of VDM.
Some of the slogans included “He’s not a thief! Release VDM!” which caught the attention of passersby and drivers in the area.
Supporters, along with civil society groups, are urging authorities to handle the case transparently and ensure his legal rights are respected.
KanyiDaily recalls that Deji Adeyanju, a human rights lawyer representing VeryDarkMan, had revealed plans to take legal action against GTBank.
