Police Arrest Real Estate Critic Scott Iguma, Set To Arraign Him In Lagos Court

Lagos State Police Command has confirmed that popular social commentator, Scott Iguma, has been taken into custody.

Scott Iguma is known for openly criticizing real estate companies in Nigeria, especially those he believes are involved in shady dealings.

In a statement released on Thursday morning, July 17, the police spokesperson CSP Benjamin Hundeyin said Scott is expected to be arraigned in the Federal High Court in Ikoyi later today.

According to him, Scott will be facing a 10-count charge, though the specific accusations were not disclosed in the statement.

‘’Scott Iguma will be arraigned on a 10-count charge at the Federal High Court Ikoyi this morning, July 17, 2025,’‘ the statement read.

It was gathered that Scott Iguma was arrested on Wednesday, July 16.

A message posted on his Instagram page by his supporters alleged that his arrest was connected to his public criticism of a certain real estate firm.

They claim the company was behind the move to silence him over his outspoken comments.

KanyiDaily recalls that Dr. Mkor Aondona, a Special Adviser to the Benue State Governor, was recently arrested by the EFCC over allegations of sextortion, blackmail, and cyberbullying.
