President Tinubu Visits Kano To Offer Condolences To Dantata’s Family

President Bola Tinubu arrived in Kano State on Friday to offer his condolences to the family of late businessman and philanthropist, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, who passed away in June.

Tinubu’s plane landed at Aminu Kano International Airport around 3 p.m. and he was welcomed by officials from the Kano State Government, including representatives of Governor Abba Yusuf.

Governor Yusuf’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature, had earlier confirmed that the President would be visiting the state to personally extend his sympathies to the Dantata family and the people of Kano over the loss of the respected elder statesman.

Alhaji Dantata, who passed away at the age of 94 in Abu Dhabi, was renowned for his accomplishments in business, particularly in real estate and agriculture, as well as for his generous charitable endeavors. He was also the uncle of Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote.

President Tinubu had earlier described Dantata’s death as a great national loss, saying the late elder statesman touched the lives of countless Nigerians.

In a statement issued by his media aide, Bayo Onanuga, the President praised the late businessman for his contributions to Nigeria’s development.

“With the death of Alhaji Dantata today, we lost a prominent business mogul, patriot, and elder statesman who contributed significantly to the growth and development of our nation,” the president said.

“Alhaji Dantata will be remembered for his industry, diligence, steadfastness, and great commitment to national unity through his many business ventures and philanthropic activities that touched countless lives of Nigerians.”

Dantata was buried at Baqiyya Cemetery in Madina, Saudi Arabia. The funeral was attended by a large number of dignitaries, including politicians, religious leaders, and business figures. Members of the Nigerian community in Saudi Arabia also joined the prayers.

KanyiDaily recalls that President Bola Tinubu recently hailed Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka as a true patriot and national treasure as he turns 91.
