Peter Mbah And Caleb Mutfwang Absent As PDP Governors Meet In Zamfara

Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are currently holding their 7th strategic meeting in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital.

Those present include Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa, Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, Duoye Diri of Bayelsa, Ademola Adeleke of Osun, Seyi Makinde of Oyo, Agbu Kefas of Taraba, and the host governor, Dauda Lawal of Zamfara.

Two governors, Peter Mbah of Enugu and Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau, were absent, and no reason had been given for their non-attendance at the time of filing this report.

The meeting’s agenda covers several key issues, including reports from the PDP’s National Zoning Committee, the Constitution Review Committee, and the National Executive Committee (NEC).

Preparations for the party’s 2025 National Convention and a submission from the PDP caucus in the National Assembly are also scheduled for discussion.

Beyond party matters, the governors are expected to deliberate on national issues such as the outcome of recent bye-elections and the performance of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The gathering, which is taking place at the Government House in Gusau, is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the PDP’s internal structures, assess the country’s political climate, and map out strategies for upcoming elections.
