Senator Ahmed Wadada Resigns From SDP After Meeting With President Tinubu

Ahmed Wadada, the senator representing Nasarawa West, has announced his resignation from the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

In a letter to the party chairman in Tudun Kofa ward, Keffi LGA, Senator Wadada said his decision was driven by the unresolved internal crisis that has weakened the SDP.

He thanked the party for the platform it provided, noting the relationships and experiences he gained, but added that it was time to “move on and explore new opportunities.”

“I am writing to inform you of my decision to resign as a member of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), effective immediately,” the letter reads.

“This decision has not been taken lightly, but I feel compelled to do so due to the lingering internal crisis that has plagued our party for some time.

“As you are aware, these internal conflicts have led to serious divisions and litigations within the party.

“I appreciate the opportunities given to me while being a member of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), and I am grateful for the experiences and relationships built. However, I feel it is time for me to move on and explore new avenues.”

Although Senator Ahmed Wadada did not reveal which political party he intends to join, his resignation from SDP comes just one week after meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the State House.

KanyiDaily recalls that former Kogi West Senator Dino Melaye also resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), blaming the party’s inability to provide strong leadership or offer real solutions to Nigeria’s problems.
