Reports of the accident surfaced online early Monday, with photos and videos showing the vehicle had veered off the road and ended up in a ditch.
Sanku, who was traveling with a friend, was rushed to the hospital after the crash but sadly passed away a few hours later.
Nollywood Actor, Yemi Elesho later confirmed the heartbreaking news on his social media pages.
Before then, influencer Jidex had posted a video of the damaged car, noting that several people were hurt in the accident.
He explained that Sanku and another passenger were badly injured, but unfortunately, the comedian did not survive.
Jidex wrote, “This is heartbreaking. Someone who left home in good health is suddenly gone. It is painful, especially coming just a day after the passing of Phyna’s sister, Ruth Otabor.”
Since the news broke, tributes have been pouring in across social media.
Friends, fellow entertainers, and fans have expressed shock and sorrow, celebrating Sanku’s talent and the joy he brought through his comedy.
Mr. Sanku Comedy rose to fame in 2021 with his distinct style of skits and creative storytelling. His untimely death has left many in the entertainment community mourning a life and career cut short.
