Veteran Actress Peju Ogunmola Loses Her Only Child, Ayomikun Oluwanisola

Veteran Nollywood actress, Peju Ogunmola, is mourning the death of her son, Ayomikun Oluwanisola.

It was gathered that the sad event happened on Tuesday while Peju Ogunmola was working on a film set.

Ayomikun Ogunmola, who was only 24 years old, had recently completed his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme, a milestone that brought great pride to his mother and family.

He was her only child with her husband, the popular comic actor Sunday Omobolanle, widely known as Papi Luwe.

News of his death broke on Tuesday, leaving family members, colleagues, and fans in shock. Tributes have been pouring in, with many describing his death as a heavy blow to Ogunmola and the Nollywood community.

Actress Biola Adebayo, in an emotional Instagram post, described the incident as tragic and prayed for God to comfort the grieving mother.

“This is a big loss. This is devastating and heartbreaking. This is tragic. May God almighty comfort Mummy Peju Ogunmola who just lost her only child. May God Almighty be with the family and loved ones at this tough time,” she wrote.

Actor Odunlade Adekola also offered his condolences on social media, saying it was a painful loss and praying for strength for Ogunmola and her family.

“This is a big loss. God will console you ma …… and the whole family. E le yi po oo,” he wrote.

Kunle Afod admitted he had been carrying a heavy heart since hearing the news.

He wrote, “Hmmmm. My heart has been very heavy.”

Femi Adebayo, in his tribute, called the loss unbearable, noting that no mother should have to endure such pain.

“Life has written a line too heavy for the stage… Today, we mourn with our dear elder, a thespian whose heart now carries the weight no mother should bear.

“My thoughts and prayers are with you ma. May Almighty Allah grant him Aljannah Firdaus,” he wrote.

Another actor, Ibrahim Yekini, better known as Itele D Icon, also prayed for God to console the bereaved mother, saying, “A mother’s pain in losing her child is beyond words. Olorun ma fi ina omo jo gbogbo abiamo.”

Actor Adedimeji Lateef described the situation as heartbreaking, saying, “Subuhanalah This is pain! My heart goes to the entire family in this dark hour. May the Almighty strengthen you during this tough time ma.”

Actor Muyiwa Ademola added that words were not enough to express the sorrow, urging Ogunmola to find strength in God during this difficult period.

“This is sad! It is such a sad news!! It broke the heart. No accurate words of condolences. The words are not coming. Not even sure if this is right or wrong. Just felt I should do something.

“The only one to console you is God! May the Almighty be with you, Aunty. This is too much to shoulder, too much to bear. It is well,” he wrote.

Peju Ogunmola, who has starred in countless Yoruba films over the years, has been a respected figure in Nollywood for decades. She is married to Sunday Omobolanle (Papi Luwe), one of the industry’s legendary comic actors.

The tragic death of her son, Ayomikun Oluwanisola, comes just a few weeks before what would have been his 25th birthday on October 12.

Meanwhile, Nigerian media personality Toke Makinwa recently announced the birth of her first child, a baby girl.
