Odumeje Calls Out Adeboye, Oyedepo Over Their Silence On Tinubu’s Bad Governance

Anambra-based clergyman, Prophet Odumeje, has criticized senior pastors in Nigeria, including Pastor Enoch Adeboye and Pastor David Oyedepo, for staying silent about the country’s current challenges under President Bola Tinubu.

In a video that has gone viral, Odumeje condemned the widespread poverty and hunger across Nigeria and said religious leaders should speak up.

He recalled how some senior pastors openly criticized government policies during former President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration but have remained quiet under the current leadership.

He described Nigeria’s government as highly corrupt and among the worst in the world, urging citizens, especially young people, to take action against leaders who prioritize personal wealth over public service.

Odumeje highlighted the economic struggles in Nigeria, comparing the naira unfavorably to Ghana’s currency, and lamented the rising cost of living.

He also warned that society has grown numb to corruption and poor governance, treating it as normal.

He called on religious and community leaders to be vocal about government failures, emphasizing that poor leadership affects not just the present generation but also the values and respect of future generations.

Addressing expectations from President Tinubu, Odumeje reminded Nigerians of promises such as 24-hour electricity, insisting that leaders must be held accountable.

The cleric questioned why influential figures have failed to address the nation’s challenges effectively.

Odumeje said, “We can never keep quiet. This is our country. There must be a revolution. The worst government anywhere is Nigeria. The worst corrupted government that nothing can change it is Nigeria.

“See where Ghana is insulting Nigerians. Even Ghana’s currency is stronger now than that of Nigeria. We were insulting Ghana’s money before but today, Ghana’s currency can be compared to the dollar.

“See Adeboye when it was the time of Goodluck Jonathan complaining ‘fuel is on the high price’, and now nobody is talking., Things are going costly every blessed day. Nobody cares anymore. Nobody is talking because they have already seen bad government in Nigeria as a normal life.’

“All the youth of this country arise and take back. Let us arise and take back our country from the businessmen that call themselves leaders. People are talking before, Ghana must go. In Ghana now, they telling us, Nigeria must go.

“When there is a bad people in leadership, their children will be feeling it. When there is a bad government, a bad father, the children will not have respect.

“When Tinubi is about to enter the government, they say, if I enter this government, just give me four years. If I don’t provide 24 hours electricity, don’t vote for me for second term.

“The video, I’m with it. How many of you saw the video? Yeah, I saw it. Now, nobody is talking about it. These are people that are supposed to be talking about the bad government. Adeboye and Oyedepo. They are supposed to carry it strongly. Fathers. Do you know the setback in Nigeria?”
