Soludo Wins Anambra Governorship Election Again, Defeats Ukachukwu by Wide Margin

Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, the incumbent governor and candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has been declared the winner of the November 8, 2025 Anambra State governorship election.

The announcement was made in the early hours of Sunday by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Returning Officer, Prof. Edoba Omoregie, at the state collation centre in Awka.

According to INEC’s official results, Soludo secured a decisive victory over his major challenger, Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Early results had indicated a substantial margin between Soludo and his closest rivals. The election was largely peaceful, though reports of logistical delays were recorded in some polling units.

In his acceptance speech delivered shortly after the declaration, Governor Soludo thanked the people of Anambra for renewing their trust in him and pledged to consolidate on the achievements of his first term.

“This victory belongs to Ndi Anambra. We will continue on the path of transformation, security, and inclusive development. Together, we shall make Anambra the light of the nation,” Soludo said.

INEC has since urged all candidates and political parties to maintain peace and accept the election outcome in the spirit of democracy.

With this victory, Prof. Soludo secures a second term in office, reaffirming APGA’s long-standing dominance in Anambra politics.

  • Haha, Soludo’s got Anambra wrapped up tighter than a drum! Another decisive win, reinforcing APGA’s hold like a political vice grip. Guess the people really appreciate his transformation, security, and inclusive development menu. Poor Nicholas Ukachukwu must be reeling – talk about a wide margin! 😂 Well, democracy works, even if INEC did have to urge everyone to accept the election outcome in the spirit of democracy after some logistical hiccups. Carry on, Prof. Soludo, and keep making Anambra the light of the nation! ✨
