Bayelsa Deputy Governor Rushed To Hospital After Collapsing In Office

Bayelsa State Deputy Governor, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, was taken to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Yenagoa on Thursday after he reportedly collapsed in his office.

The incident happened at about 1:30 pm, leading to an immediate emergency response.

He was rushed to the hospital in a serious condition and taken straight to the emergency unit.

It was gathered that Ewhrudjakpo is now stable and receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Security officials have sealed off the hospital, and several senior government officials have visited to check on him.

Although official statement has been released about what caused the health incident, some sources say it may have been linked to a possible cardiac-related issue.

A source close to the deputy governor noted his demanding schedule, saying, “He’s a workaholic; he should find time to rest.”

Efforts to reach his media aide, Doubara Atasi, were not successful, but hospital sources confirmed that he is getting the best care available and is in stable condition.

KanyiDaily recalls that Bayelsa Governor Douye Diri recently joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) after dumping the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
