CAF released the list on the official TotalEnergies AFCON 2025 X page, which was seen on Thursday.
Adams’ goal came during Nigeria’s quarter-final match against Algeria, where his calm finishing and fine technique helped the Super Eagles claim a 2–0 win.
That goal proved important in Nigeria’s journey at the tournament, as the team eventually finished third overall.
CAF explained that the goals selected were not just about beauty but also about impact and importance in key matches.

1. Ayoub El Kaabi (Morocco)
El Kaabi delivered one of the most eye-catching moments of the tournament with an acrobatic bicycle kick after coming on as a substitute. He reacted quickly to a looping cross and struck the ball mid-air, sending it over the defenders and past the goalkeeper to give Morocco a stunning goal against Comoros.
2. Christian Kofane (Cameroon)
Young striker Christian Kofane announced himself in style by scoring a powerful long-range goal from about 30 yards against Mozambique. The goalkeeper stood no chance, and the strike helped Cameroon progress while marking Kofane as one of the tournament’s breakout stars.
3. Adil Boulbina (Algeria)
Boulbina produced a decisive moment in Algeria’s round-of-16 match against DR Congo. In extra time, he scored a well-taken goal that sealed a 1–0 victory and sent Algeria into the quarter-finals, showing great skill and composure under pressure.
4. Pape Gueye (Senegal)
In a tense and dramatic final against host nation Morocco, Senegal’s Pape Gueye scored the winning goal deep into extra time. His powerful left-footed shot found the top corner, securing a 1–0 win and handing Senegal their second AFCON title.
This year’s top-five goals list showcases the wide range of talent on display at the tournament, from long-distance strikes to spectacular finishes.
