Their fallout began in February 2023 after Seun Kuti criticised Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate at the time, describing him as someone who could not fix Nigeria.
Peter Okoye, who openly supported Obi during the election period, took offence at the comments.
What followed was a heated exchange between both artists on social media, with each of them trading sharp words over their opposing political views.
In a recent video circulating online, the two singers could be seen meeting at a nightclub, where they hugged, laughed, and appeared comfortable around each other.
During the encounter, Seun Kuti was heard saying that artists should not be divided because of politicians.
“We are artistes, we can not be fighting over politicians,” he said.
Peter Okoye agreed, with both men smiling and nodding, indicating they had moved past the disagreement.
