In a video shared on his Facebook page, Lande claimed the incident happened only a few days after he arrived back in Nigeria.
The entertainer said the experience left him injured, frightened, and deeply upset.
According to him some police officers allegedly stopped him unexpectedly and assaulted him.
He said they also took his iPhone 16 Pro Max and seized $1,200 belonging to his brother while they were at a filling station in Ajah, Lagos.
“I came back from the UK 6 days ago and was attacked and beaten by police in Nigeria.
“They collected my iPhone 16 Pro Max and my brother’s $1,200. I nearly lost my life,” he wrote on Facebook
Lande stated that the officers involved were attached to the Area J Police Command.
In the video, he appeared with visible injuries, including a swollen and bleeding left eye, and expressed concern that the damage to his eye might be serious.
Reacting to the video, friends and supporters advised him to report the matter to the police authorities at Area J.
He later shared another post confirming that he had gone to a police station with friends to lodge a complaint.
At the time of filing this report, the Lagos State Police Command has not issued any official response to the allegations.
The video has triggered widespread anger online, with many Nigerians showing support for the actor and condemning the repeated cases of police brutality and misuse of power.
KanyiDaily recalls that Ijoba Lande previously revealed that he is the target of a blackmail attempt involving a fake artificial intelligence (AI) video that wrongly shows him in bed with a married woman.
