Nigerian Gay Activist Edafe Okporo Announce Divorce From Husband

US-based Nigerian LGBTQ+ advocate Edafe Okporo and his husband, Nick Giglio, have ended their marriage after three years together.

Edafe Okporo, who is originally from Warri In Delta State, married Nick Giglio in July 2022.

On Friday, March 27, he shared the news of their separation on his Instagram page, confirming that they have both agreed to file for a no-fault divorce.

The activist explained that the decision was mutual and not an easy one, stressing that they plan to take time apart to process everything with honesty and respect.

He also asked for understanding as they move forward separately, while thanking supporters for their continued care and encouragement.

The statement reads, “Nick and I, have made the mutual decision to end our marriage. We have officially filed for a no-fault divorce by mutual agreement.

“This has been a hard decision, and we are taking the time and space we need to move through it with honesty and respect.

“We ask for grace as we navigate this next chapter. You’re welcome to continue holding space for both of us, together or separately. Thank you for your love and support.” 

KanyiDaily also reported how American singer, Khalid publicly addressed his sexuality after being outed on social media.
