“I’m An Extremist” – Funke Akindele Breaks Silence After Snubbing Toyin Abraham [Video]

Nollywood actress Funke Akindele has opened up about how deeply she handles relationships following the viral moment where she appeared to ignore her colleague Toyin Abraham at a movie premiere.

The drama started last weekend during the premiere of The Return of Arinzo, a movie by fellow actress Iyabo Ojo.

In the now-viral video, Toyin Abraham was seen trying to greet Funke, but Funke snubbed without responding.

The video quickly spread across social media, where it stirred mixed reactions from fans. Shortly after, both actresses unfollowed each other on Instagram.

Speaking in a recent interview on “The Morayo Show” hosted by Morayo Afolabi-Brown, Funke admitted that she can be very intense in friendships.

Morayo said, “Let’s talk about friendship for a moment. You came across to us as somebody that is too extreme. You love hard. If you love somebody, you can do anything, and if somebody annoys you, you can totally cut the person off, like hundred percent. What experience in your life produces that Funke that we don’t know?

In her response, the actress admitted that she gives her all to people she cares about, but once she feels betrayed, she can completely distance herself.

She said, “I must say I’m not proud of that, and I’m also proud of it, because there must be a balance. I thank God for someone like Uzee Usman in my life. He sat me down, he said, ” You’re a leader, you go dey accept people as them be no be every door you go dey close.”

Funke Akindele described herself as real, strong, imperfect, and sometimes difficult, while stressing that relationships remain important to her.

The movie star also noted that as she gets older, protecting her mental well-being has become a major priority, no matter the situation.

“I’m an extremist I love hard, I’m real, I’m not prefect I can be troublesome, I’m tough. Human relationships for me is very important and I’m learning everyday. No matter what happens, my mental health is very important,’ she said.
