Ben Murray-Bruce, 46 Others Disqualified From APC Senatorial Race

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the names of 47 senatorial aspirants who failed to secure clearance to take part in the party’s Senate primaries for the 2027 general elections.

The names were released on Monday in a statement issued by the APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka.

He explained that the screening was carried out by the party’s screening committees based on APC rules and procedures.

Among the notable names on the list is Ben Murray-Bruce, who previously represented Bayelsa East in the Senate.

Benson Agadaga, another aspirant from the same district, was also not cleared.

The Rivers West senatorial district recorded the highest number of disqualified aspirants, with four people affected.

They include Oyukaye Flag Amachree, Tamunobaabo Wemike Danagogo, Jack-Rich Tein, and Banigo Ipalibo.

Zamfara State also had several affected aspirants, with seven candidates across the Central, North, and West senatorial districts failing to pass the screening process.

The APC did not state why the aspirants were disqualified.

Other affected aspirants came from states including Adamawa, Anambra, Cross River, Delta, Jigawa, Kebbi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, Oyo, Plateau, Rivers, Taraba, Yobe, and the Federal Capital Territory.
