During a chat on the Honest Bunch podcast, Yul Edochie dismissed claims that not having the award affects his reputation, arguing that a few people deciding winners cannot determine how good he is.
“You cannot contest it. Performances that I have dropped four, five, six years ago no actor has been able to replicate it till date,” he boasted.
The movie star said he wouldn’t call himself the greatest out of respect for his father, Pete Edochie, insisting that he is among the best.
“I am one of the greatest. So I will not wait until AMVCA calls me. Call anybody you want to call. I do not have any problem with them.
“Have you seen me rant on social media before? A group of people gathered to say this is who they are giving to. I am not bothered,’ he added.
Yul Edochie said his main focus is doing his job well, whether awards come or not, adding that he will always give his best in any role and deliver strong performances.
“Anywhere I found myself I will keep doing well. Any movie you keep me, I will do my best and drop a fantastic performance. Put it on any hood you like; that is your business.
“Your like or attitude towards me does not concern me. I am always concerned about taking positive moves. I have fans from all over the world.
“My worth is not determined by you. My worth is determined by God. It is determined by the amount of work that I put in and the viewers,” he said.
