Isaac Fayose made the announcement on Instagram on Saturday, sharing an image of a candle with a short message: “Rest in peace, my darling wife.”
In another post, where he shared photos of her, he said his final goodbye with the words, “Odaro oyinbo mi.”
Back in March, after visiting his family in Australia, Fayose had opened up about his wife’s health struggles.
He explained that she had become very weak and was no longer able to carry out simple activities she once did with ease.
“My wife is not feeling well. When I got here, she was very weak. The same woman who usually picks me up at the airport couldn’t come, so I had to take an Uber.
“She used to cook for me, but now I find myself cooking for her. She couldn’t cook or talk. I sat beside her and sang her favourite song; she held my hand as I sang,” Isaac Fayose said in tears.
Following the news of her death, many people have sent their condolences, including actress Yvonne Jegede, comedian Ali Baba, and veteran musician Daddy Showkey, along with other well-wishers.
