Speaking in an interview on The Am Show, Uchemba explained that it would be wrong for him to speak on such private matters, especially if Ekubo had chosen to keep them out of the public eye.
The actor said he prefers to honour whatever decisions the late actor made regarding his personal life.
“Though I do not think I am in the place to say because if Alex did want it like that, I think I would respect it. I would respect his will and he wanted it that way,” he said.
Williams Uchemba also made it clear that if any details are to be shared, they should come from Alexx Ekubo’s immediate family, not from friends or colleagues.
“If anything would come out from that, it would be his family. People have their decisions, some people would not want it out there or in the public. So, it is still best for his immediate family to say anything on it,” he added.
His comments follow ongoing discussions online, where many have been speculating about whether Alexx Ekubo had children.
Meanwhile, Ekubo’s family had earlier confirmed that he died at Evercare Hospital after battling metastatic kidney cancer.
The family also asked the public to respect their privacy during this difficult time.
