The incident, which was captured on video and later shared on social media, quickly gained attention and generated mixed reactions from fans.
In the video, MC Mbakara and his wife were seen approaching Jim Iyke as the actor arrived at an elevator.
Appearing to be in a hurry, Iyke greeted Mbakara with a handshake and a simple, “Hi, how are you doing?” before entering the elevator.
However, after the actor left, Mbakara voiced his dissatisfaction with the encounter, complaining that Iyke only shook his hand and did not smile or engage in a longer conversation.
Expressing his feelings, the content creator said, “What will it take for him to smile? It’s annoying. Celebrities always act like they are God or something.”
Despite his disappointment, Mbakara made it clear that he still admires the actor.
In the caption accompanying the video, he wrote, “I stumbled on Jim Iyke and this happened. I love him regardless.”
The video has since attracted numerous reactions online, with many social media users coming to Jim Iyke’s defence.
Several commenters pointed out that the actor appeared to be in a rush and still took the time to acknowledge Mbakara with a greeting and handshake.
Others argued that celebrities should not always be expected to stop and engage in lengthy conversations whenever they are approached in public.
KanyiDaily recalls that actor Gideon Okeke had lambasted Jim Iyke, describing him as someone he considers fake and lacking in intelligence.
