Ogunmabo was arrested on Saturday, August 15, 2026, after NDLEA officers found 90 grammes of skunk, a type of cannabis, packed in small portions for sale.
In a statement, NDLEA spokesman, Femi Babafemi, said the woman admitted selling the substance to people in the community.
She reportedly told officials that she turned to the illegal trade after a fire destroyed her provisions shop.
“She said one of her daughters, who resides in Lagos, arranges the supply of the substance to her every four days, which she in turn sold in bits,” the NDLEA spokesman said.
Following her arrest, NDLEA Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa (retd.), ordered that the elderly woman be released on bail and referred for counselling due to her advanced age.
The agency also said the daughter allegedly involved in supplying the cannabis had been arrested.
