Apple Briefly Remove Telegram From App Store Over Sexual Abuse Content

Apple temporarily removed Telegram from its App Store after finding content that violated its guidelines “prohibiting child sexual abuse material.”.

On Monday, some users in the United States, India, Australia, and Singapore were unable to download or access the app through the App Store.

The app was later restored in all affected regions.

According to Apple, Telegram was restored after “the developer promptly removed the content and banned the user who posted it.”

Reacting to the incident, Telegram posted on X saying, “Reports of ‌my demise are greatly exaggerated.”

Apple did not provide any additional details about the policy violation when contacted. Telegram also declined to respond to requests for further comment.
