Cynthia Morgan Defends Peter Okoye After He Was Accused Of Being Destructive

Nigerian singer Cynthia Morgan has shown support for Peter Okoye amid the ongoing dispute between him and his brothers, Paul, and Jude Okoye.

In a post shared on Instagram, Cynthia offered prayers for Peter, wishing him peace, healing and salvation during the difficult period.

She also reacted to comments from some social media users who described Peter Okoye as being “destructive.”

Drawing from her own experience in the music industry, Cynthia Morgan argued that many artistes reach a breaking point after years of suppressing their emotions.

According to her, musicians are often expected to put their careers ahead of everything else, including their personal happiness, relationships, grief and the pressure they face.

She explained that when they can no longer hide those emotions, their behaviour may be misunderstood.

Cynthia said many artistes need an opportunity to express their feelings or seek therapy before they can fully recover emotionally.

She added that fans usually see only the public image of entertainers without knowing the personal struggles they deal with behind the scenes.

She also noted that older artistes, especially those connected to the P-Square era, built their careers around maintaining a sense of mystery, making it even harder for people to understand what they were going through.

“I read somewhere that peters emotions are destructive. Now here is my take on this and I am speaking from experience,” she wrote.

“As an artiste, most of us are conditioned to always put our craft over anything. Love, grief, abuse, pressure etc. so when you see an artiste that you think has become destructive just know the’ve maxed out and can no longer pretend and until they vent or go to therapy Dey will never be normal.

“Artistes sacrifice so much to be the people you admire… these new artistes might have it easier cause we are in an internet age and people are less judgmental. but the older ones and especially if you come from the psquare circle some of our brands were built on mystery. You think you know us but you don’t.”

Sharing the post, Cynthia Morgan wrote: “The lord is close to the broken hearted @peterpsquare I wish you peace and salvation.”
