US Releases New List Of 10 Nigerians Facing Deportation Over Criminal Offences

The United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has released the names and photographs of 10 more Nigerians accused of criminal offences and included them in its “worst of the worst” register.

The list was published on the website of the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as the administration of President Donald Trump continues its mass deportation programme.

DHS said ICE is focusing its deportation efforts on people it considers serious criminal offenders who are also in the country illegally.

The register includes suspects from different countries who are accused of offences such as fraud, sexual crimes, drug-related offences, identity theft and other serious crimes.

However, the US authorities did not provide specific dates for when the Nigerians on the latest list would be deported.

The latest additions bring the number of Nigerians featured on the register to a higher level. In February, the US released the names and photographs of 79 Nigerians. By July, the number had increased to 124.

The development comes as the Trump administration continues to take action against foreign nationals accused of violating immigration rules, committing crimes or posing security concerns.

The 10 Nigerians recently added to the register and the offences listed against them are:

Names Alleged offences
Temitope Bashiru Fraud by wire, identity theft, fraud
Ojehoro Lewis Cruelty toward child
Osemudiamen Kingsley Oziegbe Fraud by wire
Daniel Oworen Dangerous drugs
Raymond H Ekevwo Fraud by wire
Franklin Dikeocha Sexual offense against child – fondling
Johnson Ogunlana Fraud, identity theft
Chukwuemeka Okorocha Fraud by wire, dangerous drugs, possession of weapon, aggravated assault
Tunde Korede Conspiracy
Chukwuemeka Chineye From banking-type institution fraud, larceny, identity theft, conspiracy

The DHS said the register is updated regularly as ICE continues its immigration enforcement operations.
