WAEC Releases 2026 WASSCE Results | How To Check

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced the release of the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results for school candidates.

The examination body confirmed the development on Wednesday in a post on its X page, informing candidates that they can now check their results online.

According to WAEC, candidates must first generate a Personal Identification Number (PIN) and a serial number through its official website before accessing their results on the WASSCE result-checking portal.

How To Check 2026 WASSCE Results

“UPDATE: 2026 WASSCE (SC) results have been released.

“Generate your PIN at http://waec.org and check your results now on http://waecdirect.org,” the examination body stated.

To check their results, candidates will need their examination number, the National Identification Number (NIN) used during registration, and other required details to complete the verification process.

The WAEC disclosed that 1,950,726 candidates took part in the 2026 examination.

Of that number, 1,200,514 candidates, representing 61.54 percent, earned at least five credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics.

The 2026 WASSCE for school candidates was conducted between April 21 and June 19, with nearly 1.96 million students from over 24,200 secondary schools across Nigeria participating in the examination.

Although most candidates wrote the examination using the traditional paper-based format, more schools adopted the computer-based testing (CBT) option compared to previous years.

WAEC had earlier stated that the results would be made available about 45 days after the conclusion of the examination.

The latest announcement comes a few months after the council released the results of the 2026 First Series Computer-Based WASSCE for private candidates.
