Man Arrested With N25m Cash For Alleged Vote Buying In Kaduna By-Election
Security operatives in Kaduna State have arrested a man accused of attempting to buy votes with a large sum of cash ahead of today’s bye-elections.

Police spokesman, DSP Mansir Hassan, confirmed in a statement that the suspect, identified as Shehu Patangi, was arrested early Saturday morning at a hotel along Turunku Road in Kaduna metropolis.
He was allegedly coordinating the sharing of money to influence voters in the Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency bye-election.
According to the police, officers recovered ₦25.9 million in cash from him, believed to have been set aside for vote-buying.
During questioning, Patangi reportedly admitted to the offence and pleaded for mercy.
The Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Muhammad, commended security agencies for their joint efforts in carrying out the arrest.
He issued a warning that anyone caught trying to compromise the electoral process, no matter their position, would face the full weight of the law.
Muhammad also assured residents that adequate security measures are in place before, during, and after the elections, urging them to come out and vote peacefully without fear or intimidation.
KanyiDaily recalls that Kaduna State Police Command previously stopped a planned rally in support of former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
