The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has issued a public health warning on the circulation of fake Postinor-2 in Nigeria.

How to Know Original Postinor 2

According to NAFDAC, the counterfeit versions of Postinor-2 can be identified through the following errors on the packaging:

✅ The original Postinor-2 uses a clearer, larger font on the verification sticker and has correct spellings.

How to Identify Fake Postinor-2 in Nigeria

❌ Fake PIN verification sticker has a smaller font and misspells “Verify” as “Veify.”

❌ On the fake pack, “Distributed in Nigeria” is wrongly spelt as “Distnibuted in Nigeria.”

Health Risks of Fake Postinor-2

NAFDAC warns that counterfeit Postinor-2 poses serious health risks, including:

• Contraceptive failure, leading to unintended pregnancy
• Presence of harmful or substandard ingredients
• Toxic contamination and unpredictable side effects
• Possible organ damage, allergic reactions, or even death
• Long-term reproductive health complications
