Nigerian singer Portable has tackled Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo over her recent comments in support of single mothers.

The disagreement started when Iyabo Ojo, popularly known as Queen Mother, spoke about how single mothers are succeeding and living well despite the challenges and judgment they often face.

While many people praised her words as encouraging, Portable reacted angrily.

In a video shared on social media, the singer criticised the actress, saying her comments were misleading and set a poor example for young women.

He questioned the kind of guidance such statements would give to women planning to marry, suggesting that it could promote having children with multiple partners.

Which advice do you even want to give to the younger ones getting married? That they should be giving birth for different men? One child for one man, three children for three different men?” he asked.

He questioned the kind of guidance such statements would give to women planning to marry, suggesting that it could promote having children with multiple partners.

Portable also argued that married women are better off than single mothers and claimed that single mothers are often financially exploited by men.

According to him, praising single motherhood sends the wrong signal about family life and could negatively influence children and young people preparing for marriage.
