Senate Minority Whip Tony Nwoye Defects From ADC To NDC
Senate Minority Whip Tony Nwoye has dumped the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), becoming the third senator to join the party in just one week.

Tony Nwoye, who represents Anambra North, made his decision known in a letter that was read during Wednesday’s plenary session by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
In his letter, the lawmaker pointed to ongoing internal conflicts within the ADC, as well as several court cases at the Federal High Court that have affected the party’s structure and stability.
“I write to formally notify you of my resignation from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and my intention to defect to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
“The decision has become necessary due to internal divisions and the ongoing multiple litigations at the Federal High Court and court judgments affecting the party, which unfortunately affected the creation and stability of the party,” Nwoye said.
Following the announcement, Akpabio wished him well in his new political party.
Tony Nwoye’s exit comes shortly after another Anambra lawmaker, Victor Umeh, who represents Anambra Central, left the ADC for the NDC, citing unresolved disputes and legal issues within the party.
