The Nigeria U-23 team that won bronze medal in the just concluded 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, were given a hero’s welcome as they arrived the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on Monday night, August 22.
The team led by Coach Samson Siasia delivered the only medal for Nigeria at the Rio Olympics.
It was fanfare as cheering fans and supporters trooped out en mass to welcome the team.

It would be recalled the team’s successful outing was recognized by Japanese surgeon Katsuya Takasu who fulfilled his promise to give the U-23 Dream Team by giving Siasia and captain Mikel Obi $200,000 and $190,000 respectively.
