19-Year-Old Housewife Arrested For Allegedly Stabbing Her Husband To Death In Katsina

Katsina State Police Command has arrested a 19-year-old housewife, Rabi Usman Shamsudeen, for allegedly stabbing her husband to death at Danjaku village in the Malumfashi Local Government Area of the state.

The spokesman for the state’s command, SP Gambo Isah, said Rabi allegedly stabbed her 25-year-old husband, Shamsudeen Salisu, to death on Monday morning around 4 a.m due to a misunderstanding between the young couple.

Isah said neighbours, who said they heard the deceased crying for help, had rushed to their house where they met a locked front door.

Some of them however managed to climb over the wall where they met the deceased crawling out of a room and bleeding from a stomach wound.

They were said to have also seen the deceased’s wife standing close by and holding onto a kitchen knife stained with blood.

Some of the neighbours were said to have rushed the deceased to the hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.

“Today (Monday) being the 27 of January, 2020 at about 04:00hrs, we received a report that one Rabi Shamsudeen, female, 19 years from Danjanku village of Malumfashi Local Government Area stabbed with a knife one Shamsudeen Salisu, 25 years of the same address.

“What happened was that the neighbours heard the deceased shouting for assistance and immediately they reached the house, they discovered that the gate was already locked.

“They decided to enter the house through the fence and met the deceased scrolling to come out of his room with a knife wound on his stomach. According to eyewitness account, the wife was seen with a sharp knife with blood all over it.

“The victim was rushed to Malumfashi General Hospital but he died on the road. Doctors have also confirmed that the victim is dead. The suspect has been arrested and we are investigating the circumstances surrounding the case.”

SP Isah said the woman has been arrested and currently cooling her feet in the police custody.

This was coming barely 24 hours after a High Court sitting in Abuja sentenced a woman, Maryam Sanda, to death by hanging for stabbing her husband, Bilyaminu, to death.
