Aisha Buhari, the wife to President Muhammadu Buhari, has prayed for the quick recovery of the sons of former vice president, Atiku Abubakar.
KanyiDaily had reported on Sunday that Atiku revealed that his son has tested positive for coronavirus, and he has been moved to the Gwagwalada Specialist Teaching Hospital in Abuja for treatment.
Reacting to the development on her Twitter page, the First Lady wrote:
“Your Excellency, It’s with deep sense of concern that I extend my sincere prayers towards the quick recovery of your dear son. Allah renu en Amin.”
Aisha also called for a total lockdown in Nigeria in a bid to tackle the deadly disease in the country.
She commended the state governors for closing down schools but asked that parents be told to stay at home also. Aisha wrote:
“It is commendable that state governors have closed down schools; however, this could be counterproductive if parents are still going to work.
“We should not isolate students and expose their parents. Let us remember that they will meet at home.”
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Monday reported the first confirmed death from coronavirus in the country, with 36 total cases.
