Captain Jamil Abubakar, one of the youngest decorated pilots in Nigeria, has donated over N50m in cash, food items and other relief materials to cushion the effect of coronavirus in the country.
Abubakar, who is married to Fatima, daughter of Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, made the donations specifically to the vulnerable and the elderly in Lagos and Zamfara States.
In the past few days, the pilot has shared bags of rice, cartons of noodles, hand sanitizers, toiletries, etc., at Agege, Surulere, Obalende, Yaba and Makoko in Lagos.
Similar donations were made by him in Zamfara with plans to extend the largesse to some other states.
Jamil is currently a senior pilot with Azman Airand the son of former Inspector General of Police, M.D. Abubakar.
He have joins other philanthropists including Atiku Abubakar, Aliko Dangote, Femi Otedola and the likes, who have made contributions to the fight against coronavirus in Nigeria.
