The Advocacy for Alleged Witches (AFAW) has attacked Apostle Johnson Suleman of the Omega Fire Ministry, for demanding that government allow pastors into isolation centers to pray for coronavirus patients.
Apostle Suleman had on Saturday said that those with the gift of divine healing need to be given permission, to visit isolation centres and heal people with the killer virus.
Suleman claimed that such measures are needed if the country hopes to make meaningful progress in the fight against the novel disease.
“Please (referring to the government) permit us to go and pray for COVID-19 patients. Allow us to go there (isolation centres), that is why there are men of God.
“If you are really anointed to pray for the sick, this is the time because what is holding the world is sickness. So, we’re begging the government to permit us into isolation centres, that is the only way we can reduce this nonsense because it will improve every day.
“There are people with the gift of healing, God has gifted them to pray for the sick. It is not fake, gimmick or arranged. It is there in them. Permit us so that we can prove there are prophets in Nigeria.”
“Permit us so that the ridicule and all that can reduce. We’re not telling you we can heal all of them but by the time we are through with them, you’ll see a significant difference. If they are 20 before, at least 18 will be cleared because that is what God can do,” he said.
However, in a statement on Sunday morning, the founder of the Nigerian Humanist Movement, Leo Igwe called for the sanctioning of Apostle Suleman over his recent utterance urging the government to allow pastors into isolation centers so that they could pray for COVID-19 patients.
“At a time that the death toll due to COVID-19 is rising locally and the pandemic is expected to spike in Nigeria in the coming weeks, Suleman’s declaration is very unfortunate.
“In a video that is circulating on social media, Suleman asked the government ‘to permit us, let us go there’ (referring to the isolation centers).
“He noted that persons with the gift of healing existed and ‘two, three’ of them should be allowed to go and pray for the sick at these places.
“Apostle Suleman’s prophetic statement is utterly insensitive and irresponsible and has the potential of undermining the efforts by the government to contain the spread of the virus.
“It is difficult to imagine that any reputable pastor could utter such words at this time. As one of the leading Pentecostal pastors in the country, Suleman should know that many pastors and Christians in Nigeria and beyond look up to him for guidance and direction.
“He should know that his pronouncements have weight, implications, and consequences on public life and public health especially at this time that COVID-19 is ravaging the world.
“Suleman’s statement is misleading because he implied that prayer could heal a COVID-19 patient. Unfortunately, this is not the case. If prayer could heal a person with the Coronavirus, the WHO would have said so.
“Instead, the global health institution has made it clear that there is no cure for Coronavirus at the moment. It has advised people to practice social distancing, washing of hands, and wearing face masks to reduce the infection.
“Allowing pastors into the isolation centers will contravene the WHO guidelines and contribute to the spread of the disease. The WHO has urged against touching infected individuals or having close contact with patients.
“Even if the government denies pastors access to these isolation centers as one expects, such reckless utterances could still jeopardize efforts to contain the spread of the virus.
“Suleman’s statements could get some pastors or believers to try praying or laying hands on COVID-19 patients privately at their homes or churches. Such a move could accelerate the infection as it did in South Korea.
“So, NCDC should sanction Apostle Suleman and send a strong warning to other pastors and clerics who could still be under the illusion that prayer could heal COVID-19 patients.”
Leo igwe sounds too timid for such a position he is occupying, he as a matter of fact, should be sanctioned. Apst. Suleman is looking at the best and possibly the only solution to this Global Pandemic.. and Leo igwe is there challenging it with weightless and unnecessary argument.
“WHO would have said so” really? So WHO can determine whether prayers will work on COVID-19 patients? Such a careless utterance.
If this is what “Nigerian Humanist movement” is all about, then it should be scrapped out effective immediately.
If Apst. Suleman Prays for them and they all test negative.. wouldn’t that be the first recorded breakthrough, throughout the world?

If it doesn’t work? He will go into isolation.. at least he has made a remarkable effort, rather than just sitting down with all that Divine healing power.

It is an obvious, many people love darkness than lights, and happy to see people in troubles, the saying of Apostle Suleman is good, let the government appoint one or two men of God gifted with the power of healing and allow them go there ( Isolation areas) and pray for those people with the virus, it is only those with an evils agenda are wishing the people to die. WHO, said what they says based on their philosophy believe, as we believe in the medicine, and it works for us,so, also are the spiritual healing comes also from the Supreme God Almighty and heals as many as possible. Only a fool will say there is no God.
Hear this, God has really done great and marvelous things or healing through his Prophet. If for example A prophet has pray for HIV Positive victims and they becomes negative, Covid 19 case is a mere case.
If God say yes no one can say No. So if All the professionals doctors are saying there is no cure for Covid 19, have you forgotten that there is God who has the final say.
God, through his Prophet can do heal Covid 19. And is even a things of joy to have a prophet talking about it. All we need to do now is to join them and support them in prayer so that they can also be encourage to push ahead and let’s wait for the victory we shall gain over Covid 19.
Pls let’s wise up, in Time like this all we need is God, locking down, washing of hands, nose mask and sanitizer is not the best.
So my advice to let the men of God try their best through God’s anointing on them and I believe there is going to be a positive change and Nigeria will be Corona’s free.
About the employment things, am interested please. I have been praying for God’s intervention and raising a man for my family,I think this is God at work. I have been asking God for permanent open doors hope God will use pastor Suleman to answer my prayers in Jesus precious name I pray Amen.
God can use anyone he pleases. And there is nothing he cannot do,there is nothing he cannot change, there is nothing you cannot turn around remember God is Able.
What is the 3 fold missions of the devil? To steal, kill and destroy. God uses men to manifest His Power and Mighty acts on earth. The devil does the same, Leo Igwe obviously represent and stands to advocate for his master the devil. He so conscious of the truth that sicknesses are from the pit of hell while sound and perfect health is divine and comes from above because “every good and perfect things comes from above..” therefore he is out to divert attention of many from reasoning and perhaps going for the truth. It’s the truth you know that will set you free.
Ignorance is more deadly than any sickness: “my people are destroy for lack of knowledge..” As ignorant and blinded as Leo Igwe is, his master the devil has veiled him that one of the written Word of God says:
“If you can change my convenant of day and night so that the day does not break forth into night and night into day; then shall my covenant not stand…”
Am so sure that Leo Igwe and his cohorts plus any force be it scientifically or governmentally etc has not stopped the day and night from exchanging themselves. God’s covenants are unbroken and His Words are forever settled. And “Suffer not a witch to live” is one of them.
Don’t worry. Fight the body of Christ – the Church which Christ Jesus is the Chief Cornerstone. It won’t be long, you are not the first and I don’t think you will be the last. The truth remains that God’s Word does not exist in empty enticing words of men but in action. Hence, it’s written:
“whoso falleth upon this Stone shall be broken to pieces and God is angry with the wicked everyday.”
