Nigerian’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama has announced that 292 Nigerians evacuated from Saudi Arabia due to the coronavirus pandemic have arrived Nigerians in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja.
The Minister who disclosed this in a tweet on Wednesday, said the evacuees who are mostly women and children arrived Nigeria on Tuesday night.
According to him, the evacuees have already begun their 14-day quarantine in some undisclosed hotels.
“We received 292 evacuees stranded in Saudi Arabia yesterday. The Saudi Government transported them to Abuja,” the minister tweeted.
“A large number are nursing mothers and children and they are all comfortably settled in hotels under the mandatory 14 days quarantine.”
KanyiDaily had reported that Saudi Arabia is making plans to repatriate about 11,600 Nigerians, who are stranded in the country, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
