A former lawamaker representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Senator Shehu Sani has revealed why President Muhammadu Buhari cancelled his scheduled nationwide broadcast on Monday.
KanyiDaily recalls that the National Coordinator of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Aliyu Sani had on Sunday disclosed that Buhari will be addressing Nigerians on Monday evening.
However, in a tweet on Monday afternoon, a presidential spokesperson, Femi Adesina said no presidential address on coronavirus updates was planned for Monday.
According to him, the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 would rather, during its usual media briefings, bring the nation up to speed on whether or not the country should go ahead with the second phase of easing the lockdown.

Reacting to the development on his Twitter page, Shehu Sani suggested that Buhari may have called off the presidential address in order to avoid backlash from angry Nigerians.
“Baba [Buhari] wanted to come out and talk to you [Nigerians], [and when] he peeped through the Window, instead of each of you holding a notebook and a pen, you were holding stones. And he just went back to Za[the] living room. Return your stones from where you picked them,” he tweeted.
