Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa has tested positive for the coronavirus, along with his wife, Edith Okowa.
The governor announced this on his Twitter Page on Wednesday, July 1, 2020.
He wrote: “My wife and I have tested positive for COVID-19. We are well and continuing with our isolation/medication. We thank you all for your continued prayers for us and our daughter”
Governor Okowa has joined a growing list of top public officers who have tested positive for the disease.

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia is currently undergoing treatment for the disease while his counterpart in Ondo, Rotimi Akeredolu had also tested positive for COVID-19.
Some other governors, including Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti and Godwin Obaseki of Edo, had also self-isolated after coming in contact with infected people. They later tested negative for the disease.
