Gunmen Kills Bauchi Lawmaker In His House, Abducts His 2 Wives And One-Year-Old Daughter

Hon. Musa Mante has been killed by suspected gunmen.

Some unknown gunmen have killed the lawmaker representing Baraza Dass constituency in Bauchi State House of Assembly, Honourable Musa Mante.

It was gathered that the gunmen stormed his house in Baraza Village on Thursday evening and killed him. His one-year-old son and two of his wives were also kidnapped.

Confirming the incident on Friday, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Bauchi Command, Ahmed Wakili, gave the names of the abducted wives as Rashida Musa Mante, 40; Rahina Musa Mante 35 and one-year-old daughter, Fausar Musa Mante.

Wakili said the aim of the attack was yet to be ascertained but the gunmen were suspected to be armed robbers. He revealed that four empty shell of life ammunition were recovered at the scene of the incident.

He added that crack team of police personnel led by the Dass Divisional Police Officer has been mobilised to the area to commence immediate investigation and track the gunmen.

The lawmaker, Mante had tested positive for coronavirus some weeks ago and was recuperating at home as at the time of his murder.

KanyiDaily had also reported how gunmen suspected to be kidnappers killed a prominent Nigerian lawyer, Haro Gandu, and abducted his wife and son from their home in Kaduna State.
