“Thursday Is Thursday” – Runtown Says No Going Back On His Proposed EndSARS Protest

Nigerian musician, Runtown has insisted that his proposed protest against the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) will hold on Thursday, October 8, 2020.

Runtwon made the announcement on his Twitter page, shortly after Naira Marley canceled his #EndSARS peaceful protest which he planned to lead today.

Amid the mixed reactions that ensued after Naira Marley called off his protest, Runtown assure fans that his proposed peaceful march would go on as schedule writing, “Thursday is Thursday!”

Runtown had announced the protest on Sunday after men of the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) came under attack over recurring brutality, extortion and extrajudicial killings.

“This has gone long enough and now we must take action! I’ll be leading a protest to #ENDSARS on Thursday, October 8th 2020. They MUST listen to us, they MUST make/effect real and visible changes! Empty promises won’t work this time!!!

“Let’s all come out to peacefully reach out to our “Elected” leaders beyond social media!!! Venue/Take Off Point: Lekki Phase 1, Toll Gate. 10 am,” Runtown tweeted.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) have set up a live Instagram session with Naira Marley to discuss reforms for the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS).
