The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced a new date for the release of the West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
In a tweet on Wednesday, October 28, 2020, the WAEC disclosed that it has postponed the release of the 2020 WASSCE result to first week of November.
The examination body said the change in the schedule was due to the curfew imposed by some state governors following the breakdown of laws and orders by hoodlums which resulted in wanton destruction of properties.
“WASSCE SC 2020 Results Release Date: Dear candidates, the Council had planned to release the results today in fulfillment of our Project 45 but due to the curfew imposed last week, it had to be postponed till next week,” the tweet reads.
This coming few days after National Examinations Council (NECO) postponed the ongoing Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations (SSCE) due to the security challenges caused by the #EndSARS protest.
